Knowledge RegistryThe Knowledge Registry has been updated!
The Knowledge Registry (KR) has been updated. The most significant improvement is the ability to relate your professional experience, documents and other data to your competency data. This will give a clearer perspective of your background to someone searching for your skill set.
Other enhancements include: easier navigation, better organization and more comprehensive information.
Please note that, if you have already entered information into the KR, your existing KR data has been retained. You may enter the KR and edit your data at your convenience.
What is the Knowledge Registry?
The NASA SMA Knowledge Registry is a Web-based resource designed for Senior Management, Program Executives, and Program/Project Managers to identify and locate critical managerial, scientific, engineering, and technical skills to support special tasks. These tasks include such activities as special engineering studies, independent committee support, source evaluation boards, mishap and accident investigations, and other ad hoc tasks typically outside an employee's normal scope of work and day-to-day duties. The Knowledge Registry presents a solution to a proven NASA need for timely and accurate identification of key employees in various fields throughout NASA and industry that display specific knowledge and expertise.
How is the KR different from the CMS?
The KR goes beyond the CMS by gathering further information about you (e.g., formal and informal education, NASA program/project experience, certifications, technical papers, resumes, etc.) to further define your abilities. The KR offers full text searching capability that allow authorized users to search the detailed fields and supporting documents you add to your profile and an "ask the expert" feature that allows users to email questions directly to identified experts.
Will I receive unwanted solicitations after filling this out?
No. You can elect to make yourself available for answering questions in your specialty or receive invitations into special groups and projects.
Why should I take the KR Survey?
Today's NASA programs continue to face critical and highly unique technical and programmatic challenges. Often times there are only a select few individuals within the agency with the talents required to address such challenges. You will assist in making the NASA workforce a more effective, responsive, and efficient organization while exposing yourself to more opportunities, expanding your career, and enhancing your stature in the agency.
The PBMA-KMS will help you make it safe, make it work, and manage risk
