PBMA SecureMeeting and Enhanced Security Work Groups

Due to the decommissioning of PBMA SecureMeetingLinks to a page in a new window, questions and concerns have surfaced related to the lifespan of PBMA Enhanced Security Work Groups (ESWG)Links to a page in a new window (ESWG). To eliminate any confusion or concern, ESWG will continue to be an offering of the NASA Safety Center and PBMA Program for the foreseeable future and is in no way related to the decommissioning efforts for PBMA SecureMeeting.

SecureMeeting Transition to Secure WebEx

The NASA Safety Center's PBMA SecureMeeting Team continues to work with the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) to implement Secure WebEx (formerly Secure Virtual Team Meeting or SVTM) as a replacement for PBMA SecureMeeting.

Secure WebEx is compliant with Federal guidelines and approved to handle Sensitive but Unclassified (SBU) data. All WebEx service provided to NASA by LMIT/ODIN is now secure, so all current users of ODIN's WebEx are now conducting SecureMeetings by default.

PBMA SecureMeeting users have begun transitioning to Secure WebEx as of June 1, 2009 with a planned completion date of September 30, 2009 (PBMA SecureMeeting will be decommissioned on September 30, 2009). If you already have an ODIN WebEx seat, you have everything you need to do Secure WebEx; there is no physical transition involved. If you need the ability to host meetings in the new Secure WebEx and you do not currently have a WebEx seat from ODIN, please contact your ODIN point of contact to obtain a Secure WebEx seat.

There are a number of scenarios that may require some business process redesign for some users. For example, organizations that utilize meeting schedulers to plan all meetings will have to invest some thought and planning into how to replicate their current operation in WebEx. If you, as a PBMA SecureMeeting user, are part of a larger group that has joint meetings, you may wish to contact your group or organization leader to find out what planning is in progress for how your group or organization will use the new Secure WebEx.
