PBMA SecureMeeting Transition PBMA SecureMeeting was implemented as a temporary solution until the Agency could provide a product capable of handling SBU information in a secure environment. The current PBMA SecureMeeting system has a limitation of 100 simultaneous meeting users (regardless of how many meetings occur, only 100 people can be logged on and attending meetings at any time). While the PBMA SecureMeeting product has been a success over the last three years, the sheer volume of meetings and attendees has recently begun to overwhelm the system. It is timely that the PBMA Team is pleased to announce the new Agency-approved Secure Virtual Team Meeting (SVTM) that will replace PBMA SecureMeeting.
ODIN, in direct partnership with the NASA Agency CIO, has announced the upcoming availability of Secure Virtual Team Meeting (SVTM). SVTM will replace the existing Virtual Team Meeting (WebEx), and provide users the ability to host and participate in either secure or non-secure web presentations.
In the past, only non-secure Web presentations were available via WebEx. SVTM, based on Cisco's Unified MeetingPlace and hosted in the NASA Data Center, will replace WebEx and allow for Web-based SBU presentations to occur in a secure environment.
Beginning March 24, 2008, current Virtual Team Meeting customers will be able to start using the new SVTM for scheduling Web collaborations. SecureMeeting coordinators, please begin working with your local ODIN Points-of-Contact to obtain SVTM seat subscriptions to begin the transition from PBMA SecureMeeting.
Once the new SVTM System has completed testing and is available for everyone to use, PBMA SecureMeeting will begin phasing out. Timelines for this phase-out activity are being developed and further updates will be posted here. The phase-out will not start until the new SVTM System is in production to service your meeting needs.
Please note: The new SVTM will not affect the Enhanced Security Work Groups (ESWG). The current ESWG functionality and processes will remain the same.
